By accessing or using Tatau, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our platform. Tatau is designed to promote kindness and positive human connection, and your use of the platform should reflect these values.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Tatau. By using Tatau, you represent that you are an adult and meet this requirement.

3. Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account. Choose an alias that does not reveal your real identity, as we prioritize privacy. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

4. Acceptable Use

Tatau exists to unite humanity, not divide it. You agree NOT to:

  • Post political content, partisan speech, or politically divisive material
  • Post hate speech, discrimination, or content targeting any group
  • Engage in bullying, trolling, harassment, or deliberately divisive behavior
  • Share content that creates division among people based on any characteristic
  • Share content that is illegal or violates others' rights
  • Attempt to circumvent our AI mentorship system
  • Use automated systems or bots to access the platform

5. Content Ownership

You retain ownership of content you post. By posting, you grant Tatau a non-exclusive license to display your content on the platform. You can delete your content at any time. We never sell your content to third parties.

6. AI Mentorship

Tatau uses AI to analyze content and offer constructive suggestions before posting. This is designed to help, not censor. The AI mentor provides guidance to help you communicate through shared human values. Final posting decisions remain yours.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or our Community Guidelines. You may delete your account at any time through settings. Upon termination, your data will be handled according to our Privacy Policy.

8. Disclaimers

Tatau is provided 'as is' without warranties. We are not responsible for user-generated content. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Our AI mentor provides suggestions, not professional advice.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms. Significant changes will be notified via email or platform notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Privacy Policy

Your privacy is fundamental to Tatau. We collect minimal data and never sell your information.

Information We Collect

We collect only what's necessary to provide our service:

  • Account Information: Email, alias (not real name), and password (encrypted)
  • Content You Create: Posts, comments, and reactions you choose to share
  • Basic Usage Data: Language preferences and session information for functionality

How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and improve the Tatau platform
  • To enable the AI mentorship features
  • To calculate your Ripple Score
  • To send essential service communications

What We NEVER Do

  • Sell your data to advertisers or third parties
  • Use your data for targeted advertising
  • Never share your information
  • Use manipulative algorithms to keep you scrolling

Your Rights (GDPR & Global)

Regardless of where you live, you have these rights:

  • Right to Access: Request a copy of all data we hold about you
  • Right to Rectification: Correct any inaccurate personal data
  • Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your data ('right to be forgotten')
  • Right to Portability: Receive your data in a portable format

Data Security

We use industry-standard encryption and security measures to protect your data. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.

Data Retention

We retain your data only as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, your data is permanently removed within 30 days, except where legal requirements mandate longer retention.

Age Requirement

Tatau is for adults aged 18 and over only. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we discover such data, we will delete it immediately and terminate the account.
